The look on Megan’s face.

That goodbye was the hardest I’ve had to do since mum and dad passed. Not even Hollye was that hard.

I really hate inventory. It’s times like this I wish I could just hire some 6th year on holiday from Hogwarts to do it for me.

“Terry,” ( Cary asks walking into the back. )

I lean over and kiss Megan softly on the lips. “Morning, Love.”

“MMM,” she mummers sleepily.

( I slip out of bed and put some clothes on before heading to the kitchen to start breakfast. )

I make sure I have everything for the weekend and grab the portkey (an old boot, someones idea of a joke). Activating it, I feel the jerk behind my naval. Seconds later I arrive in the landing area inside the hotel.

( Before I can get my bearings, I get a face full of soft brown hair. )

I've been waiting for the right time to give Megan these earrings since she said she liked them. Cary kept giving me knowing looks when I told her they weren't for sale and put them back in my office for safe keeping. After she owled me and told me about the promotion, I knew the time had come.

( I owled her back and invited her over to dinner at my place. )

When I got Aly’s note last night I was out with Megan. Luckily, she didn’t ask too many questions as I replied, or when I feel silent as the night wore on. I know how Aly works and that note could not have been good.

( As the clock chimes noon... )

"Terry, there's a gentleman here to see you," Cary says sticking her head in my office door.

( I look up form my paperwork. )

I walk into the shop to open up. Burke has been by twice since our last meeting to make sure that I am still holding up to my end of the bargain. I’m not sure why he wants to use my shop and not his own, but apparently ever since Harry defeated Voldemort the MLE and Aurors have been cracking down on questionable activity.

( Wouldn’t it be something if Hannah or Susan had to arrest me. )

I go to close up the shop and go home for the evening. As I turn of the lights in the back and walk towards the front, the door chimes.

( Sorry, we're closed. )

It's my birthday. But I really don't feel any different. To me, it's just another day. Ever since mum and dad...

Isn't it funny when you leave school that you have all these dreams and ambitions and then life throws a Bludger at you?
